Veterans Committee Mission

Our mission is to honor and represent Washington State veterans though advocacy, outreach, community involvement and education.

Goals:

  • To work in tandem with the mission and goals of the American Academy of Physician Assistants Veterans Caucus.
  • To annually honor, in action and/or ceremony, Washington State veterans for their service and sacrifice.
  • To provide advocacy for veterans, to the WAPA Board of Directors and the Washington State legislature.
  • Support the educational pursuits of veterans in state physician assistant programs through the awarding of scholarships.
  • Represent veterans' interests through collaborations with other veteran organizations and the uniformed services.

Donate to the Veteran PA Student Scholarship

2008-09 was the inaugural year for WAPA to award a scholarship specifically to a veteran student. After being presented with the AAPA Constituent Organization Award of Achievement for the formation of a Veterans Committee, the WAPA Board of Directors voted to apply the financial prize to upcoming veteran scholarships. We accept tax deductible donations to increase the upcoming scholarships.

We have appreciated the donations from both WAPA members and outside groups referred from WAPA members. The goal is to honor Washington veteran students for their service and sacrifice and to support PA education for our state’s veterans.

Donations for the Veteran Student Scholarship may be sent to WAPA and checks should have “Veterans Scholarship” in the memo line.
